PROGRAMME FROM JANUARY TO JUNE 2019

NOTE - UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, DAY TRIPS WILL LEAVE FROM SAINSBURY'S CAR PARK AT LONGWATER IN NORWCH AT 06.30 SHARP.

Tuesday 8th January:  Social night the Railway Inn – Poringland. A chance for a catch up following the Christmas break. Turn up anytime from 7.30 pm onwards, unless you want to sample the Railway’s menu for tea.

Sunday 20th January: Day trip to Baslow (White Peak map, Ref - 258721).  Always a popular destination, with Chatsworth on the doorstep, along with Curbar and Froggatt Edges and walks by the River Derwent.  There are also good pubs in the village in which to pass the time if you get back early, not forgetting also the tea rooms as well.

Tuesday 5th February:  AGM and quiz– Alpington Village Hall.  As this is your club, this is your opportunity to vote in the committee for the coming year and then to have your say regarding anything club related during the general discussion after the formalities are over. The AGM will start at 7.30 pm sharp. Nominations for anyone wishing to stand as either an officer or committee member are also welcome, either in advance to any committee member, or on the night. There will also be a quiz afterwards, as the official business shouldn’t take too long. Free tea and coffee will again be available on the night, but please feel free to bring along alcohol if you wish.

Sunday 24th February:  Day trip to Mayfield near Ashbourne (OS Explorer map  259, Ref – 157457) A new destination for the Club just to the south west of Ashbourne, with lots of good walking on offer, including part of the Limestone Way.

Tuesday 5th March:  Chinese buffet at Riverside.  Very popular last time we included this in the programme, so thought we’d give it another go. An excellent selection of Chinese dishes you help yourself to, ranging from hot and spicy to very mild, so something for everyone.  In order to reserve a place, please let Patrick or Diane know if you are coming along.  Meet at the venue for 7.30 pm and pay on the night, (currently at £14.99 per person)

Sunday 10th March:  Daytrip to Matlock/Cromford ((White Peak map, Ref - 301571).  An excellent place to start from, with lots of walking options in and around the Matlock area.
